In-depth Guide for Making WOW Gold with Professions

Professions is one of the most important things while making WOW Gold Classic . You can only have two professions, so you have to choose wisely. There is two kinds of professions. The first one is gathering professions, the second is crafting professions. You must have atleast one gathering profession, the gathring profession makes a benefit difference of the outcome if you wanna make money. Your second profession can be a crafting profession if you like to (some may want to create their gear in level 80), but a second gathering profession is pretty much preffered if you wanna get the best income of money.

Professions

In WoW Classic, professions are an integral part of the game and will be important in every phase. While some professions can help to make items that you will use for raiding and PvP, professions are also an excellent way to make gold. If your primary goal is to make gold, some professions are better than others. Below is a tier list for how the different professions rank strictly in terms of making gold.

Gathering

There is, however, one constant to all the fluctuation and turbulance in the long-term gold generation meta-game. Each WoW profession thus far is based the need for raw materials gathered from the land. Thus, if you’re not sure where to start in your WoW gold making endeavors, or even if you’re a seasoned gold making pro looking for an ‘easy way’ to make more dough, you might want to consider dual gathering professions. Dual gathering (or Farming) specification is a fantastic way to get started in gold making for several reasons:

Skinning

The easiest profession to have while leveling your character is Skinning. You are constantly slaying beasts, and their corpses are laying right at your feet, which makes them very easy to skin. You can sell off all of your gathered skins on the Auction House for upcoming Leatherworkers to purchase. Both Herbalism and Mining require you to kind of go off the beaten path quite often to gather the resource. So, while these are generally better gathering professions when you are level 60, they will sidetrack you quite a bit while leveling up. They are also especially slow when you don't have a mount. If you want to just fill up your other profession slot with a gathering profession, then you'd likely go Herbalism because it is likely the most lucrative. However, if you plan on going PvP and being an Engineer, you might want to do Mining because it helps fuel that profession.

Crafting Professions

Concerning crafting professions I will keep it as short as possible. All you need to know to make a profit with any crafting profession is how to use TSM.

Alchemy

In general, potions, flasks, and elixirs are not very profitable. There are a few exceptions, but it might be more work than it’s worth.

The potions, elixers, flasks, etc. are always in demand, especially by the Raiding and PvP crowds, it’s just that there is a lot of competition. Always keep an eye on AH prices and the cost of mats. Buy the mats when the farmers dump tons (and undercut each other) and sell your chemicals when the quantity available is low.

Troll’s Blood potions are great for leveling and grinding. Raids always want various flasks and other chemicals. The high end products are also in demand.

There’s pretty ruthless undercutting on potion prices, especially the low level ones. You can try the buy and resell techniques, limit your costs, and/or look for a sweet spot where you can make cash on a few pots. For those most part you’ll have to wait until your skill is pretty high level to make money with Alchemy.

One area that is a definite possibility is with your transmutes. Usually the transmuted item sells for a lot more than what it costs you to make. Look into this on your server and give it a shot. The transmuted items are used in a number of crafts and prices are often worth the effort.

Herbalism

Herbalism offers a way to farm gold without really needing to put much thought into it. If you want the best gold income, pair Herbalism with Alchemy to farm the herbs that you will use to make potions and elixirs. The best herb to farm is

Black Lotus, which is extremely valuable, but also quite rare. Black Lotus is needed to make Flasks, which are the most powerful consumables in the game for raids and will be used for all of WoW Classic.

Enchanting

Many an enchanter knows that disenchanting is a great way to make some extra coin. Disenchant your useless green/blue/purple items, sell the parts, make gold. One huge advantage of selling enchanting mats is that you do not have to undercut prices. Why?

Most enchanting mats sell quickly, especially those for the more desireable spells,, and

there’s very little deposit. So unless you really need a quick sale you can price them well above the lowest price and they’ll still sell, eventually, and there’s no cost to reposting them. Of course, if there are 500 stacks priced below yours you might have a long wait for that sale.

Buying parts that are priced too low and reselling them is a tried and true method for profit.

Buy cheap green items, disenchant them, make a profit by selling the parts.

Everyone wants enchantments, especially the PvP and raiding crowds. A tried and true method of making gold is to offer your services in chat. Your services free (“buyer” brings the mats) and tips are appreciated. Just like in a restaurant, fast and friendly service gets more tips.

Check prices for the enchant scrolls and if they look good then buy some vellums, enchant some scrolls, and post them on the AH. If you can get a deal on the mats you may be able to make some bucks with the scrolls. High end enchant scrolls can make you some nice money if you can get the materials cheap.

With patch 5.4 enchants are no longer limited to a weapon’s item level. You can apply Dancing Steel to a level 1 weapon, for example. This should increase the demand for the high end enchants a bit (as they can be applied to heirlooms and such) and dampen the demand for lower end enchantss

With Warlords the top level enchants sell well and your garrison enchanter’s hut will be a big help. Note that if you have the hut you can sell a variety of enchants without actually having the skill.

Engineering

Engineering is not traditionally used as a goldmaking profession, but you do have some income options. Several of the Engineering bombs and trinket are highly sought after, and can be sold on the Auction House for some profit. The issue is that most of them require Engineering for anyone to use them, meaning people are more likely to make their own.

Goblin Sapper Charge is one example, where you can freely sell it and potentially make a profit off of people who do not want to spend the time making their own. Engineering is also quite expensive to level, so do not pick up Engineering just to make gold.

Tailoring

Tailoring is mostly used as a means for casters to eventually craft some specific pieces of BoP gear, and less about making gold. You can make some income by using

Mooncloth to create

Mooncloth Bag, but it will not be very profitable.
