Epclusa is a brand-name prescription medication. It’s approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat adults and some children with certain variations of hepatitis C. Doctors prescribe Epclusa to treat certain variations of long lasting hepatitis C. The different variations of hepatitis C that Epclusa treats have different genetic materials called genotypes. Additionally, Epclusa is used to treat hepatitis C in people with or without cirrhosis. Sometimes, doctors prescribe Epclusa with other drugs for advanced hepatitis C.
